The State Bureau of Investigations exposed an official for fraud with beds for the army for the second time: details of the case.
According to inkorr.com: A scandal has erupted again in Dnipro! Law enforcement officers uncovered a representative of the local housing maintenance office. The State Bureau of Investigations found out that he is illegally acting for the second time during the procurement of beds for military units in the region.
The first time he organized a tender for 5 thousand bunk beds worth a total of 28 million hryvnias, while their actual value was only 18 million. Now a new 'scheme' has appeared – another 2 thousand beds for which an inflated price was again paid.
'Now investigators have identified yet another similar operation. Just two months after the first tender, the same official signed a new contract with the same company for the supply of an additional 2 thousand beds. The overpayment this time was nearly 4 million UAH,' the Bureau reported.
Another sad story
Also in Dnipro, one of the heads of the housing maintenance offices has been charged with negligence towards servicemen during martial law. This offense could lead to long imprisonment for up to 8 years. The state also plans to file a lawsuit for compensation for damages caused.
Importantly, these cases emphasize the need for control over the expenditure of state funds, especially in wartime, when support for the military is a priority. Highlighting such corruption schemes not only undermines trust in reforms within government structures but also endangers the lives and safety of those who defend the country.
