Slovenia handed over three machines for demining territories.
The State Emergency Service received three new pyrotechnic machines
The State Emergency Service received three light-type pyrotechnic machines 'KOZAK PM-L', which were purchased with funds provided by the Slovenian government as part of the United24 initiative.
Certificates for the vehicles were handed over to the head of the State Emergency Service Andriy Danik by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, who is in Ukraine on a working visit, the Ministry of Economy reports.
Effective demining with new technology
The tender for the purchase of light-type pyrotechnic machines was held in September 2024. The cost of purchasing three vehicles was approximately 38 million UAH, which is 3.6 million cheaper than the initial price. The State Emergency Service has already been using vehicles of a similar class for several years.
'In demining, the most valuable asset is people. Such pyrotechnic machines allow us to save the lives of our sappers, as they can safely transport mines and other explosive devices. Tomorrow, all three machines will head to the operational area,' said the head of the Emergency Service of Ukraine Andriy Danik.
Unconditional assistance from Slovenia
This is already the second transfer of equipment purchased with funds provided by Slovenia. In October 2024, the State Emergency Service received two tractors for transporting demining machines. The agreement on providing 1.5 million euros for humanitarian assistance in the field of demining was signed by the governments of Ukraine and Slovenia in December 2023. It came into effect on July 3, 2024, after completing the necessary domestic procedures.
'We are focused on expertise and innovations in the field of demining, which we are happy to share with you. We are glad that we have the opportunity and financial resources to support Ukraine over the past two years. And we will continue to do so in the future,' said the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon.
