The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has launched an investigation into a draft project for Members of Parliament, which proposes to exempt them from paying import duties on cars. Moreover, the project contains other provisions that may be advantageous for MPs. Former NABU Director Artem Sytnyk reported this on his Facebook page.
According to Sytnyk, the draft amendments to the 2021 budget were submitted to the Verkhovna Rada by 'Servant of the People' MP Vadim Kryvokhatko.
The former NABU director recalls the bill submitted by Kryvokhatko to the draft Law on the State Budget for 2021. According to him, 'will the authorities really live by their own bill.'
'There are 260 provisions, ranging from correcting excise tax rates on alcohol, to raising the non-taxable minimum and reducing the criteria for granting subsidies, which has already been written about by the National Audit Office. Additionally, there are provisions from our businessmen - about amending the collection of import duties from Akhmetov, Kolomoisky, Pinchuk for an interim transit pass and an interim account for millions of cars obtained by them duty-free - all are exempt from paying import duties,' wrote Sytnyk.
He also noted that this project may cause concern among some businessmen: 'Those who get richer from the implementation of the draft - this is why they get richer, for example, Yarilko or Ihorenko from Kenwood,' wrote Sytnyk. He also emphasized that, in his opinion, Kryvokhatko will alter real funding, particularly concerning the housing capital repair program.
