According to Novyny.live: A catastrophic road accident on June 5 in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv has forced Ukrainian authorities to reconsider how drivers are trained. The collision, which occurred on Karavaevy Dachy, claimed four lives—including police officers, a kindergarten nanny, and a child. This tragedy has raised urgent questions about the quality of driver preparation and accountability on the country’s roads.

The driver involved had an alarming record: 39 traffic violations, 18 of which were logged in the past year alone. This pattern has drawn sharp criticism of the current licensing system. Oleksiy Mochalov, Vice President of the Automobile Federation, stated:

“For 30 years, no one has taught people how to actually drive—they’ve only been trained to pass the traffic police exam.”
