Snooker player Mann wins despite penalty: car breakdown on the way to the match.
According to The Sun: Mitchell Mann probably thought his chances of winning the British Open faded when his car suddenly broke down on the way to Cheltenham.
The player took a short route from the West Midlands, planning to arrive before his match against Gao Yang, which started at 10:00.
Mitchell Mann advanced to the second round of the British Open for the first timeUnfortunately, a flat tire made him late for the meeting.
Receiving help from a staff member at a local golf course, Mann managed to reach the racetrack.
Another green chevron worker was waiting with the RAC on the roadside while Mann hurried.
The 33-year-old athlete arrived at The Centaur at Cheltenham Racecourse 10 minutes later than scheduled.
This resulted in an automatic deduction of one frame from his score, so Mann started the match four frames behind.
His chances of an incredible comeback became even slimmer when Yan won the second frame, edging closer to victory.
Mann needed some time to warm up after the stress on the roadside, but managed to quickly equalize the score at 2-2.
Yan was close to victory, winning the next frame, but Mann showed character, winning the last two frames and finishing the match with an impressive victory of 4-3.
