Dollar exchange rate next week: expert predicts stability and range

According to ТСН: In the coming week, from January 5 to 11, sharp changes in the dollar exchange rate are not expected. The currency market in Ukraine will remain stable.

Banker Taras Lesovyi noted that the factors that may affect the fluctuations in the exchange rate during this period will be balanced, and the currency market will remain resilient. He emphasized that the NBU has the ability to intervene promptly if imbalances arise in the interbank market.

Currency Exchange Rates

The price of dollars in the cash market will be 42.3-42.8 UAH, and euros — 48.5-49.75 UAH, the banker added.

In the interbank market, the buying-selling rates will range from 42.2 to 42.7 UAH for dollars and from 48.5 to 49.75 UAH for euros.

The difference between the buying and selling rates in commercial banks may be 0.5-0.6 UAH for dollars and 0.8-1 UAH for euros. In exchange offices, these values may range from 0.6-1 UAH and 1-1.3 UAH respectively.

"Average weekly exchange rate deviations will be within 1-1.5% of the week's starting rate," adds Lesovyi.

Recommendations for Savings

Economist Andrii Novak pointed out the best currency for savings. The expert recommends keeping savings in commercial banks that are among the top ten largest in Ukraine. It is best to divide the amount into three equal 'baskets': UAH, dollars, and euros or other 'hard currencies'.

The situation in the currency market indicates that in the near future, the main fluctuations in rates are expected within stable indicators. This provides grounds for financial planning and timely responses to potential changes. For those planning savings, a sensible approach to currency choice can help avoid financial risks during periods of instability.
