Trump and Putin failed to reach an agreement: what the dictator of the Russian Federation gained after the meeting

After the meeting between US President Donald Trump and the dictator of the Russian Federation Putin, experts and politicians have already begun to assess it. The general impression: no specifics or results and, even, Putin's victory.

This is reported by Novyny.LIVE.

The first among Ukrainian politicians to react was MP Oleksiy Honcharenko. In his opinion, the dictator of Russia gained more time thanks to the negotiations he held with Trump.

'It seems that Putin gained more time. No agreement on a ceasefire or de-escalation was reached,' he wrote on Telegram.

According to the Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, which he expressed on social media X, Putin repeated 'the same propaganda clichés about the 'roots of the conflict' that his state television constantly repeats.'

'The problem lies in Russian imperialism, not in Ukraine's desire to live in freedom,' wrote the diplomat.

Lipavsky stated that it is in the existential European interests to prevent such scenarios. If Putin took the peace negotiations seriously, Russia would not be attacking Ukraine the whole day today, noted the Czech Foreign Minister.

How US businesses reacted to negotiations with Putin

Representatives of investment funds and major industrial markets in the States told Reuters that there were no unexpected results. It is very good that there were no announcements regarding sanctions.

'The only news is absolutely no news about this. I’m not sure there will be any significant steps that will affect the markets,' said Carol Schleif, Chief Market Strategist at BMO Private Wealth.
'If that's the case, we're seeing opportunities in the energy sector, as oil prices here are quite low, and the prospect of sanctions on oil did not materialize. There might be relief, and this will be an opportunity to invest in energy,' said Eugene Epstein, head of structured products at MONEYCORP.

It was previously reported that during meetings with Putin, Trump stated that he rated the meeting with the Russian dictator at '10 points' on a scale from one to ten. However, Trump agreed that no agreement was reached on a ceasefire at the front.

Trump also stated that he would not hold peace negotiations on behalf of Ukraine, but rather 'will prepare the table' for Putin and Zelensky.

Experts and politicians are already assessing the meeting between the presidents of the US and Russia. They believe that Putin gained more time through negotiations with Trump, but there is no specific result. US business representatives saw nothing extraordinary in this meeting and comment that the markets continue to function stably.
