Spanish tourist islands are under threat due to the influx of refugees and migrants arriving in unseaworthy boats. Mallorca, Ibiza, and other islands are facing a real crisis due to the continuous flow of newcomers from Africa. Local residents have begun to protest over the situation, as beaches are littered with abandoned boats and camps are overcrowded to the brim. The wave of migration to the islands has raised alarms among officials. The majority of newcomers come from Algeria, with 1,500 men arriving on the islands just in August of this year. The Spanish government has urged the islands to accept migrant children, but the situation has already spiraled out of control, camps are overcrowded, and beaches are turning into graveyards for abandoned boats.
