HUR Special Unit 'Artan' Holds the Line Near Stepnohirsk: Commander Provides Update.
Frontline Situation in the Zaporizhzhia Sector
According to Novyny.live: In the Zaporizhzhia direction, particularly around Stepnohirsk, the special operations unit 'Artan' of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) is actively engaged in combat. Ukrainian forces are pushing back against enemy attempts to seize territory in this area. Colonel Viktor Torkotiuk, the unit's commander, reports that conditions on the front have improved compared to the spring. He stresses that while occupiers have tried to infiltrate the settlement in small groups, 'Artan' has no plans to retreat.
Beyond the Zaporizhzhia front, 'Artan' also operates on Snake Island, in Crimea, and near Enerhodar. Colonel Torkotiuk emphasized the strategic stakes, stating:
“They want Zaporizhzhia” — Colonel Viktor Torkotiuk
He also highlighted a key challenge for troops: “The hardest part is getting there.”
Unity and Support
Despite the difficult situation, Torkotiuk sees no effective advances by the occupiers, asserting:
“I don’t see any successful actions on their part” — Colonel Viktor Torkotiuk
Reflecting on the broader war effort, the commander underscored the need for resources and solidarity: “We need people, weapons, and unity.” This underscores that for 'Artan', both combat readiness and societal cohesion are vital.
The frontline remains tense, but according to Torkotiuk, the improvement since spring offers some hope for a favorable outcome. 'Artan' continues its mission to hold critical ground. Meanwhile, political and social unity within Ukraine, along with public support for the military, are key factors in countering aggression.
The unit's active operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector highlight the importance of controlling strategic areas amid the ongoing conflict. Societal backing and political cohesion are increasingly crucial for Ukraine's defense. Given the commander’s assessment of improved frontline conditions, Ukrainian troops are expected to maintain their vigorous efforts to preserve the country’s territorial integrity. Ensuring that military efforts receive proper support at all levels may prove decisive in repelling the invasion.
