Scheduled Electricity Outages Roll Out Across Kharkiv Region

According to Novyny.live: Starting July 1, 2023, the Kharkiv region will implement hourly electricity shutdowns. This measure comes in response to surging power consumption driven by a heatwave. The outages will occur daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Under the schedule, groups 1.1 and 1.2 will face blackouts from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, while groups 3.1 and 3.2 will be affected from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Industrial enterprises will also experience power cuts during these hours. The electricity tariff for households is set at 4.32 UAH per kWh. Residents with electric heating qualify for a reduced rate of 2.64 UAH per kWh, provided their monthly consumption stays under 2,000 kWh.

Safety Efforts Underway for Residents

Additionally, over the past week, specialists surveyed 84 hectares of the region's territory, neutralizing hundreds of hazardous items. This highlights local authorities' ongoing efforts to ensure public safety amid the emergency situation. The introduction of scheduled blackouts is a key step toward stabilizing the region's energy grid.

This decision reflects local government attempts to manage rising electricity demand, particularly during the summer months when temperatures climb. The outages may also impact the business environment, as industrial enterprises face reduced productivity during the shutdown periods.

At the same time, the active clearance of dangerous objects from the area underscores authorities' commitment to protecting citizens in the face of current challenges. Together, these actions form part of a broader strategy to maintain regional stability and ensure public safety.
