Trump makes a decision on supporting Ukraine

The administration of US President Donald Trump has decided to provide Ukraine with additional intelligence for conducting missile strikes deep inside Russian territory. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing American officials. The permission was granted approximately at the time when Trump sharply spoke out against Vladimir Putin, assuring on social media that Ukraine has every chance to reclaim the occupied territories. Washington also urged NATO to provide similar support to Kyiv.
“For the first time, the Trump administration will support Ukrainian strikes with long-range missiles against energy facilities on Russian territory. Thanks to the intelligence exchange, Ukraine will have the opportunity to more effectively hit oil refineries, pipelines, power plants, and other facilities located far behind the front line. The goal is to deprive the Kremlin of resources to continue the war.”
In addition, the USA is considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles, Barracuda, and other missiles with a range of up to 800 kilometers, as well as 'ground-to-ground' and 'ground-to-air' types. However, the final decision on supplying this weapon has not yet been made, sources from the publication emphasized.
“Intelligence data combined with more powerful weapons can cause significantly greater damage to energy infrastructure than previous Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. According to one official, American representatives are waiting for written instructions from the White House to begin providing the necessary information.”
Two Reuters sources independently confirmed that the USA would provide Ukraine with intelligence on important energy infrastructure facilities on Russian territory. So far, Moscow has not officially responded to this information. The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, noted on October 1 that Moscow would find a response if Washington decided to transfer Tomahawk missiles to Kyiv.In light of these events, the new actions of the Trump administration highlight a change in Washington's approach to supporting Ukraine in its confrontation with Russia. Deepened intelligence sharing and the possible supply of long-range weapons may have a significant impact on the course of hostilities taking place in the region. How Moscow will respond to this initiative will show time, but it is already becoming clear that the implementation of these plans could significantly change the balance of power.
