The USA may close the sky over Ukraine: what is known about Trump's plans

The President of the United States stated during an interview on Fox News about the possibility of providing air support as part of a potential peace agreement. He emphasized that the United States would not send American troops to Ukraine to monitor the execution of possible peace agreements with Russia, but they could provide air support to international forces. European leaders called for the deployment of F-35 fighters at the NATO base in Romania. This was discussed at a meeting between the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States and military leaders from the UK, Germany, France, Finland, and Italy, reported FREEДОМ.

The White House press secretary stated that the air support the U.S. could provide to international forces in Ukraine, which President Trump mentioned, is an option and a possibility. At the same time, she emphasized that Trump does not rule out any military options, but has excluded the introduction of ground troops. The U.S. Secretary of the Treasury also reported that Washington is selling weapons to European countries for delivery to Ukraine at a markup of 10%, which could partially cover the costs of military assistance.

“We created this economic partnership, and as soon as the war ends — we will be able to return our investments. If all goes well in Ukraine — it will go well for us too. President Trump is acting cautiously,” said the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury.

The Vice President of the United States believes that in future agreements on security guarantees for Ukraine, European countries should assume the main obligations. Leaders of the “coalition of the willing” agreed to negotiate with the United States regarding reliable security guarantees for Ukraine. In the coming days, planning groups will meet with their American colleagues to prepare specific plans, said the head of the British government. Details may be agreed upon within the next week, confirmed the President of Finland.

“We agreed on security guarantees, and that we will return to this specific issue quite quickly — as soon as officials and military experts prepare a solution,” he reported.

In Europe, discussions are underway about the possibility of deploying American F-35 fighters in Romania. NATO is also building its largest airbase on the continent there. In addition to American fighters, European countries want guarantees for the continued use of American satellites for GPS and reconnaissance in Ukraine. They also intend to secure a commitment from Washington to supply Ukraine with missiles for Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems.

Ukraine may receive air support from the United States as part of a possible peace agreement that European leaders are discussing. F-35 fighters could be deployed from the NATO base in Romania to ensure security. The sale of weapons to European countries could also help Ukraine receive military assistance. Detailed plans and agreements are expected next week.
