U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Wieteker confirmed that America's goal is to achieve a ceasefire and a peaceful settlement between the parties. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that the U.S. has suggested ending the war by June. The discrepancy highlights the delicate balance between supporting Ukraine's defense and pursuing diplomatic off-ramps.

Matthew Wieteker emphasized that he does not believe the United States has communicated any specific timelines for concluding the conflict, stating:
