The attacks occurred around 12:30 PM Eastern Time in the US, which corresponds to 8:30 PM Kyiv time. The military noted that the strikes targeted ISIS in various regions of Syria.
Operation 'Hawk Eye'
The US Central Command clarified that these actions are part of the operation 'Hawk Eye', which was officially launched on December 19, 2025, by order of then-President Donald Trump.
'This operation is a direct response to the deadly ISIS attack on American and Syrian forces in the Palmyra area on December 13, 2025,' the command's statement said.
Earlier, the information regarding the strikes on ISIS positions in Syria was confirmed by Fox News, citing its own sources.
Strikes by Great Britain and France
There were also reports that fighter jets from Great Britain and France conducted strikes on the underground infrastructure of the terrorist group 'Islamic State' (ISIS).
The United States also launched Operation 'Hawk Strike' in Syria, aiming to destroy ISIS militants, their bases, supply depots, and logistics.
