Ukrainian Special Forces Strike Oil Depot and Maritime Terminal in Crimea: Key Targets Hit.
Strike on Crimean Oil Infrastructure
According to UATV: On the night of June 7, 2023, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces targeted the 'Semykolodezyanska' oil depot and a maritime fuel terminal in occupied Crimea. Both facilities are located in Feodosia, approximately 250 kilometers from the front line.
The oil depot in the settlement of Yedy-Kuyu houses nine storage tanks with capacities ranging from 700 to 3,000 cubic meters. It serves as a transshipment hub for storing and moving fuel oil, diesel, and other petroleum products. Additionally, the terminal hosts seven fuel tanks, each holding 10,000 or 20,000 cubic meters.
Strategic Approach to Disrupting Supply Lines
This attack is part of Ukraine’s broader efforts to bolster security and dismantle infrastructure that supports occupying forces in the region.
The incident highlights an escalation of Ukrainian military operations in occupied Crimea, reflecting a strategic focus on severing enemy logistics. Striking these critical infrastructure assets could significantly hinder the ability of Russian forces to sustain their operations in the area, potentially marking a key phase in the broader conflict.
Assessments of the strike’s effectiveness, along with international reactions, will be crucial in shaping future developments in the region.
