Meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff
According to Novyny.live: At the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff held on January 13, issues of the military-political situation and drone technologies were discussed. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported on decisions aimed at increasing the effectiveness of drone systems and the distribution of funds for the Defense Forces.
During the meeting, the dynamics of the military-political situation in the first half of 2026 were discussed. Umerov noted that the capabilities of the Defense Forces regarding the increase of the drone component were discussed separately. He emphasized that drone technologies are one of the key factors in deterring the enemy, and the Staff's decisions are aimed at systematically strengthening this capability.
Results of negotiations and strengthening defense capabilities
Furthermore, Volodymyr Zelensky listened to Umerov regarding the results of negotiations in Paris. He also reported that the document on security guarantees for Ukraine is ready for signing. Simultaneously, the president updated the composition of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, which indicates an activation of work aimed at strengthening the country's defense capability.
