Stephen Bunting repeated the unique achievement of Littler and van Gerwen.
Stephen Bunting's Unique Achievement
According to The Sun: Stephen Bunting stood out with extraordinary success that has only been matched by two other players.
In 2025, Bunting delivered a brilliant performance, achieving two wins at the Players Championships, two titles on the European Tour, and two awards at the World Series of Darts.

This success is only the third event in darts history achieved by Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen. Littler accomplished it last year, while van Gerwen did so in 2016, 2017, and 2019.
Bunting achieved this success by defeating Luke Woodhouse in the final of the Swiss Darts Trophy, the last stage of the current European Tour before the German championship.
The player also noted that switching to spiked sneakers helped him achieve this success.
“I am playing the best darts of my life. I feel that I am consistently hitting even in spiked sneakers,” he said.
“I am very happy with this victory; it means a lot to me. I am ranked 4th in the world. It shows how stable I am.”
“But you can’t take anything for granted in this game. The players are very motivated.”
On Shoes and New Ideas
After his victory over Chris Landman, Bunting explained his idea about shoes: “I used to play in expensive non-spiked shoes, and they left marks. So my idea is to use spikes to avoid damaging the floor and to make them last longer.”
“And if someone annoys me, they’ll get one of theirs!”
Stephen Bunting demonstrates not only mastery over the game but also a creative approach, as noted by his opponents and coaches. This success opens new horizons not only for him but for the entire world of darts, emphasizing the importance of individual style and approaches in sports. The preparation for upcoming competitions promises to be extremely interesting, and Bunting is ready to conquer new heights. Read also
