Bunting, who is celebrating his 40th birthday, admitted that he changed his footwear during the competition and appeared in unusual spiked shoes, for which he received a prize of £30,000.

“Behind the scenes, a lot of hard work happens,” Bunting said.

“Luke had a fantastic week. I just told him that now is the best time to find his best form before the ProTours.”

“I played in expensive non-spiked shoes, and they had marks,” he explained about his footwear choice.

“So my idea is to use spikes that don’t touch the floor, and they will last much longer.”

“And if someone annoys me, they’ll get one in the back!”
