Steven Gerrard could lead Wrexham: what is known about Parkinson's possible resignation.
Steven Gerrard could lead Wrexham
According to The Sun: Steven Gerrard, Liverpool legend, has a chance to become the new manager of 'Wrexham' after a short stint in Saudi Arabia.
In 2023, Gerrard left England and signed a contract with 'Al-Ettifaq', where he worked for 18 months, but left the team in January.
GettySince then, Gerrard has been waiting for new opportunities in coaching. Currently, there are talks about his potential appointment at 'Wrexham', a club financially supported by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, which has risen from the National League to the Championship.
Despite spending £33 million this summer, 'Wrexham' currently sits 21st in the table, having won only one of their five matches. Pressure is mounting on head coach Phil Parkinson as he has signed stars like Nathan Broadhead, Ben Schofield, and Callum Doyle.
Manchester United star Brian Robson believes Gerrard would be a great candidate for 'Wrexham'. He hopes Parkinson will be given more time to fulfill his duties after leading the club to the second division.
Robson noted that 'it depends on whether Steve wants to get back into the game. He had a decent experience in Saudi Arabia, but that job would definitely attract his attention if he wanted to return to coaching.'

"I think 'Wrexham' should give Phil a little more time, because he has done a great job for them. They made a fantastic transition from where they were to the Championship in a short period. If they can establish themselves in the Championship, even finishing in the middle of the table, it will be a really good season considering their previous achievements.' Brian Robson
“The charisma of the guys from the US is fantastic, and 'Wrexham' has a great fan base that will always support them, so the atmosphere is always wonderful. And with the support that Ryan Reynolds has brought, it can only aid the club's development.”
Amid rumors of Gerrard's possible appointment, 'Wrexham' is going through tough times. With Gerrard's experience and the strong financial backing the team has, significant changes may occur in the future. As it is known, the coach plays a key role in the team's success, so the question of a new leader will remain relevant in the near future.
