Ukrainian Officials Face Hefty Fines for Mobilization Law Violations.
Stiffer Penalties for Officials Who Break Mobilization Rules
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian government officials, local authorities, legal entities, and public associations can face fines for violating mobilization laws that are significantly higher than those for ordinary citizens. In peacetime, officials can be fined between 17,000 and 25,500 Ukrainian hryvnias. For the same violations under the same conditions, ordinary citizens face fines ranging from 5,100 to 8,500 hryvnias.
If an official commits a repeat offense, the fine increases to between 25,500 and 34,000 hryvnias. For a regular citizen, a repeat violation carries a fine of 8,500 to 11,900 hryvnias. This demonstrates a substantial disparity in penalties for different categories of offenders. These measures are part of Ukraine's broader legal framework to ensure compliance during a period of national defense.
Fines Under Martial Law
Furthermore, fines for officials during martial law will range from 34,000 to 59,500 hryvnias. These figures are stipulated by Article 210-1 of Ukraine's Code of Administrative Offenses. The heightened responsibility for officials underscores the critical importance of adhering to mobilization laws in wartime, where non-compliance can directly impact national security.
The legislative changes are part of the state's efforts to enforce mobilization measures under martial law. The elevated fines for officials are designed to incentivize strict compliance, as their violations can have severe consequences for defense readiness. This also sends a clear signal to society about the importance of following mobilization requirements during the ongoing conflict with Russia.
