Strasbourg imposes sanctions on ultras: what is the reason for the conflict.
Strasbourg imposes sanctions on its fans
According to The Sun: The football club Strasbourg is taking measures against its supporters due to dissatisfaction with club president Mark Keller and the new owners from BlueCo.
After BlueCo, who are also the owners of Chelsea, acquired the club in June 2023, active criticism of the new management began.

Fan protest
The criticism intensified after the preliminary agreement for Emmanuel Emegha's transfer to Chelsea in 2026 was reached. Strasbourg's captain was attacked by banners in the stands, and a public argument occurred between the ultras and head coach Liam Rosenior.
One fan shared their feelings:
“I am not worried about losing our identity, we have already lost it. It’s like eating leftovers at the host's house but being a slave.”
The situation led to sanctions against the club's ultras, known as UB90.
At a press conference, Keller stated:
“Progressive measures will be explained to those concerned.”
Details of the sanctions
In an email sent to fans, the details of the sanctions were revealed: “Access to club premises will only be allowed with escorts, and the creation of tifo and banners in the stadium is prohibited.”
Additionally, tickets for matches will now be personalized, and the ultras will no longer have privileges for external ticket sales.
Strasbourg fans are actively expressing their discontent on social media, stating: “Keller sold his soul to the devil…”
A representative of the fan association, Alexander, noted:
“We received a letter yesterday, just like the ultras. The same letter with all the prohibitions and restrictions.”
The situation with the Strasbourg sports club remains tense. Supporters, who care about the fate of the club, are actively discussing the possible consequences of such actions by the administration. This raises concerns about the future of the team, its identity, and relationships with fans. How the club resolves this situation will determine not only the stability within the team but also fan support in the future.
