Voltage Surges in Ukraine: Which Appliances Need Protection First.
According to inkorr.com: Experts revealed which household appliances are most susceptible to voltage fluctuations and how they can be protected. Electrical engineer Anatoly Gichka shared his recommendations on the air of 'Kyiv24'.
Against the backdrop of attacks on the Ukrainian energy system, there is a risk of voltage surges in electrical networks. Many household appliances turn out to be sensitive to such fluctuations. Gichka emphasizes the importance of installing delay relays as the first step in protection.
'Relays with delay are usually installed in electrical panels after the meter. It depends on where exactly it was placed during the work on the electrical network,' he explained.
According to the engineer, for ordinary household needs, a stabilizer with a capacity of 2-2.5 kW is usually sufficient, which is suitable for a typical apartment. However, it is better to leave this work to qualified specialists to avoid complications. Gichka also emphasized that washing machines, televisions, and refrigerators are the most vulnerable to voltage surges.
Warning about Power Outages
Previously, recommendations regarding three types of potential power outages were released.
In general, the expert shared tips on how to protect equipment from voltage surges, particularly through the installation of voltage relays and the use of stabilizers. The importance of a professional approach to the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment is emphasized to avoid potential problems during voltage fluctuations. This will help preserve equipment from damage and extend its operational life.
Preventing damage to household appliances in the context of frequent voltage fluctuations can significantly reduce the risk of financial costs for repairs or purchasing new devices. In modern conditions, it is important not only to properly configure the electrical system but also to regularly check its status to ensure the stability of household appliances.
