Election Vote Counting Won't Be Handled by AI, Expert States.
Artificial Intelligence and Elections
According to Novyny.live: Mykyta Klymenko, head of the research division at the State University of Information and Communication Technologies, has ruled out the possibility of using artificial intelligence to count votes in Ukrainian elections. He stressed that any election system must be completely isolated from external interference, making AI unsuitable for this role. To provide context, Ukraine is currently navigating post-war electoral reforms and exploring technological upgrades while safeguarding against manipulation.
Klymenko added that if electronic voting systems are adopted, they could be considered as an option. Meanwhile, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is preparing updates to election laws that would eliminate the requirement for voters to be tied to their registration location—a significant step toward improving the electoral process.
Election Landscape
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has yet to set a date for elections. Oleksiy Koshel, an expert in the field, noted that the final version of the post-war election bill may be ready by April. The question of organizing elections remains urgent, and specialists continue to explore ways to enhance them.

Discussions about new electronic voting systems and updates to election legislation reflect a push to modernize Ukraine's elections, especially as the need to organize future votes becomes more pressing. The CEC's recent decisions could fundamentally reshape voting approaches, marking an important move toward strengthening democratic processes in the country.
