New Pension Rules for Students Under 23: Payments Set for July 2026.
Survivor’s Pension for Students
According to Novyny.live: In Ukraine, several types of pensions exist, with survivor’s benefits playing a key role. Students up to the age of 23 are eligible for this support. Payments continue until graduation or, for orphans, until they turn 23. Notably, these benefits are disbursed throughout the entire academic year, including holiday periods.
Planned Increases to Pension Payments
Additionally, in July 2026, pension supplements are scheduled for those whose current benefits fall below the established minimum. This applies specifically to non-working pensioners aged 65 and older who have accumulated insurance records of:
- 30 years for women
- 35 years for men
The total pension amount must not be less than 4,213 hryvnias. Furthermore, in 2026, pensioners may qualify for a special merit supplement ranging from 597 to 908 hryvnias per month.
Survivor’s pensions provide crucial social support for young people continuing their education after losing a parent. This financial aid helps students maintain stability during their studies. The planned 2026 increases reflect the government’s efforts to improve living conditions for pensioners, particularly those with low incomes, which could positively impact their well-being and social inclusion.
