Electricity tariffs will rise by 20%: when to expect the price increase.
Increase in electricity tariffs for the population
According to inkorr.com: According to a report from the Ministry of Economy, starting in 2026, electricity tariffs for regular consumers are planned to increase by 15% annually. However, fluctuations in this rate of up to 5% in either direction are possible, which may lead to price increases of between 10% and 20% each year.
Ukrainians were informed when and by how much electricity tariffs will rise.
Additionally, the energy regulator has raised transmission tariffs for several energy distribution companies after assessing their performance. The additional revenue from the new tariffs is planned to be used to pay off debts to 'Ukrenergo' and to prepare the energy system for the winter period.
Currently, Ukrainians pay 4.32 hryvnias per kilowatt-hour of electricity during the day and 2.16 hryvnias at night. If this trend continues, by 2028 the cost may exceed 6 hryvnias per kilowatt.
Information on drinking water quality
Recall that earlier Ukrainians received warnings regarding the quality of drinking water.
Thus, electricity prices will continue to rise for the population according to the official letter from the Ministry of Economy. Consumers will pay more for each kilowatt of electricity, which may lead to significant increases by 2028. This increase is related to the need to pay off debts and prepare the energy system for winter.
The rise in electricity tariffs is an important issue for Ukrainian consumers, as it will significantly impact their budgets. Given the increase in transmission tariffs and the urgent needs of the energy system, this could pose a serious challenge for many families. It is important to monitor further changes and their impact on the country’s economy.Read also
