According to relatives, Hadden and his friends decided to 'prank' by throwing toilet paper in yards.

One of the friends found him unconscious around 9 a.m.

Hadden's uncle, Dodge County coroner Joe Smith, reported that the boy was rushed to the local hospital, but soon the doctors pronounced him dead.

Smith also told 41 NBC that the cause of the young athlete's death remains unknown, as they are awaiting the results of the autopsy.

The tragedy occurred during 'homecoming week' in Dodge County.

Hadden was a talented golfer and was preparing to participate in a state tournament.

Dodge County High School announced his death in a Facebook post.

“There are no words to express the grief our DCHS family feels at the loss of young Hadden Kelly,” the statement said.

“Join us in prayer for his family, friends, and our DCHS family.

“'Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.'”

Hadden's team also posted a memorial note on social media, noting that he was an inspiring leader.

They emphasized that Hadden was their 'best golfer' and always stayed to support the team after his competitions.

“He could leave, as he usually finished first. He cared. He stayed to support his team,” the message said.

“What a testament to his character! We love Hadden and his family!

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

Smith also noted that he believes Hadden had every chance to become a professional golfer.

According to the Georgia State Golf Association, Hadden had two top ten finishes in his 2025 tournaments.

He placed fifth at the regional qualifying tournament in Spring Hill from June 30 to July 1.

This tragedy has struck not only the family but also the entire golf community, which has lost a gifted young athlete. Hadden left a bright mark in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will live on through the achievements and actions that inspired his friends and team.
