After victories in Italy and Azerbaijan, Verstappen is once again hoping for the championship. The four-time world champion is currently 69 points behind Piastri but optimistically stated that his chances for the title are 50 percent:
“Because I'm either doing it or I'm not.”
Norris emphasized that the Dutch driver has a significant advantage as he is 'born in F1'. He noted:
'He is one of the best drivers in Formula 1 history. If anyone says they can reach that level, just tell them to go away.'
Lando stressed Verstappen's high stability and his ability to avoid extremes in racing, noting:
'He never goes for 101%, but always stays at 100%, and when he has a bad day - at 99%.'
Verstappen, 28, is the son of former F1 driver Jos Verstappen and began his career in Formula 1 at the age of 17, becoming the youngest Grand Prix winner in 2016.
Norris's Comments on Racing
Norris said:
'If I could go back and choose how to become a better driver, I would also want my parents to be drivers, start as a baby in the pit stops, and race karts from the same age as he did.'
In the latest race in Baku, Norris could not improve his position in the championship, finishing in seventh place. He noted that Verstappen's chances for the title still exist and humorously commented on McLaren's team priorities:
“I'm very concerned. Yes, very worried ... No.'
Thus, the battle for the championship in Formula 1 continues to remain intense. Norris and Verstappen, as key figures in the McLaren team, demonstrate high competition, making the upcoming races even more exciting for motorsport fans. The presence of such talented drivers in the championship highlights the dynamism and unpredictability of this sport.
