Oschadbank Card Expiration: Which Account Holders Risk Losing Access.
Oschadbank Cards Face Upcoming Expiration Deadline
According to Novyny.live: Oschadbank has announced that its older payment cards will expire on June 30, 2026. However, certain customers could lose access to their accounts even sooner if they have not used their card for a full year. This issue is gaining urgency as some cards have already been deactivated. For context, Oschadbank is one of Ukraine's largest state-owned financial institutions, and such updates are part of broader banking sector reforms.
Customer Groups Required to Obtain Replacement Cards
Cards that expired as far back as February 2022 are now subject to cancellation. Furthermore, two specific customer categories have been required to get new cards since January 2023 to prevent disruptions in accessing their funds. It is also important to note that cards with expiration dates from February 2022 through October 2025 are likewise slated for cancellation.
- Clients who have not used their card for a year may face an inactive account maintenance fee of approximately 100 UAH.
- Complete card cancellation can occur automatically after three full years of account inactivity.
This development underscores the critical need for customers to regularly monitor their payment card expiration dates and account activity. Individuals should exercise particular caution, as losing account access can lead to significant financial complications.
For its part, Oschadbank is seeking to refresh its client database and mitigate risks associated with dormant cards, a move that appears to align with a wider strategy for modernizing banking services in Ukraine.
