According to The Sun: TESCO has introduced a new line of 'restaurant-quality' ready meals that will be available in 160 stores nationwide.

The collection includes 12 different meals, so that you can enjoy something new every day of the week.

Variety of dishes

The new Finest Chef's Collection line has been developed by TESCO chefs. It includes dishes prepared with different culinary traditions in mind - from Italian to Indian cuisine, as well as classic British flavors.

Prices range from £17.50 to £20 per serving.

• British dishes include: double pork cut, tender lamb, lamb shoulder with balsamic and rosemary treatment, juicy pork belly, and smoked chicken crown cut.
• Indian flavors are represented by: tandoori chicken supremes, beef cheeks with masala, and spiced lamb shanks.
• Italian dishes consist of: pork with rosemary, stuffed beef cut, porchetta with nduja, and pork with rosemary and porcini.

“We know that life can be busy, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up on delicious home-cooked meals,” said Breidge Doneggi, TESCO’s product development and innovation director.

“That’s why our chefs have created the Chef's Collection - a range of restaurant-inspired dishes using clever techniques that make it easy to cook something special.”

Availability and discounts

Each dish is designed for two people, so the cost will be £10 per serving. The Finest Chef's Collection line will start selling in larger TESCO stores, offering a 25% discount for Clubcard holders until October 12.

The dishes come with step-by-step cooking instructions and a QR code for tips on cooking and presentation from TESCO chefs.

The price of the meals is lower than visiting a restaurant, with 30% of British people and about 60% of adults trying to pass off supermarket meals as their own.
