Lineker commented on the situation with Kobbie Maino
According to The Sun: Gary Lineker expressed his surprise at Ruben Amorim's decision to exclude Kobbie Maino from Manchester United's first team.
The 20-year-old midfielder lost his position in the team after Amorim's arrival last year.
Gary Lineker says he is 'confused' by Kobbie Maino's decline at Man United AFP Ruben Amorim seems to undervalue the midfielder Shutterstock EditorialMaino tried to leave the club at the end of the summer, but his loan requests were not fulfilled.
On Sunday, he again did not make it into the starting lineup in the match against Man City, where United suffered a 0-3 defeat.
The midfielder came on as a substitute, making an appearance in his second match of the season.
However, he looked unhappy during the game as the team recorded their second loss in four matches.
The Red Devils have won only one match in the new season and currently sit in 14th place in the table with just four points.
The pressure on Amorim is increasing as he is unwilling to change his 5-2-3 game tactic.
Lineker is confident that Maino should play a more significant role if the team aims for success this season.
He believes the manager has 'dismissed' the English international.

Lineker said on the podcast The Rest is Football: “It really bothers me how Kobbie Maino has almost been dismissed. He is such an incredible young talent, a local boy who is making strides. I thought when he came on, he played pretty well. I don't understand it. I don't know if there's something we don't know, but it is a bit puzzling to me.”
After Manchester United's recent performances, the situation surrounding Kobbie Maino has raised several questions. Will he be able to return to the first team, or will the team continue to seek new options? Lineker and other experts are urging the manager to reconsider his decisions to maximize the team's talents. There are still many matches ahead, and fans are eagerly awaiting positive changes.
