Trump, Rubio, and Vance Present a Plan for Peaceful Settlement of the Conflict Between Ukraine and Russia

American President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have presented a plan aimed at ending the war between Ukraine and Russia. The agreement involves lifting sanctions on Russia, recognizing Crimea as part of it, and establishing a ceasefire while leaving Russian troops in the occupied territories. Ukraine, on its part, has only vague security guarantees from the president, even considering the hostile attitude of the population towards the country.

This plan raises serious concerns, as it actually undermines Ukraine. The country will lose 20% of its territory, millions of citizens, and will be deprived of the opportunity to join NATO. Moreover, after the restoration of the economy and armed forces, Russia will be able to continue its aggression with greater severity.

The Trump Administration is willing to negotiate, but if one of the parties rejects the agreement, the main pressure is exerted on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump stated that Ukraine must choose between peace or war for another three years and risks losing all territory. Zelensky, on the other hand, insists on an immediate, complete, and unconditional ceasefire before further negotiations.

For his part, J.D. Vance advocates for 'moral equality' between both sides of the conflict, which creates additional risks for the U.S. Trump's proposal cannot be considered a peace plan; it is a means of capitulation that Ukraine will not agree to.
