Such words were spoken during a press conference on January 7 by Trump, reported Brett Samuels, White House correspondent for The Hill according to ZN.UA.
It is worth noting that his rhetoric proclaiming the threat of military force is not new. However, Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, which is a NATO member. The use of force against an alliance member could cause chaos among allies, the reporter insists.
While the idea of Canada joining the US as the 51st state is unlikely, Trump is trying to force Canadian leaders to comply by threatening tariffs and revising the Agreement between the US, Mexico, and Canada, which was made during his first term.
