According to The Sun: Rasmus Hojlund made an impression in the Champions League, showcasing an important logo of the tournament on his Napoli shirt after receiving the man of the match award. United failed to qualify for European tournaments, losing the Europa League final last season to Tottenham. However, several former players have confirmed their value in recent days.

The team, known as 'the Red Devils', has started the season poorly again, sitting in 14th place in the Premier League after six matches with three losses, two wins, and one draw.

Hojlund, who struggled to secure a spot in Ruben Amorim's squad after Benjamin Sesko's transfer from RB Leipzig, is currently impressing on loan at Napoli.

The Danish forward scored twice, leading Napoli to a 2-1 victory over his former team Sporting at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Hojlund, who joined United for £72 million, opened the scoring in the 36th minute, receiving a pass from Kevin De Bruyne and coolly putting the ball into the net.

After Sporting equalized with a penalty, De Bruyne assisted again, and Hojlund restored Napoli's lead.

Kevin De Bruyne said: “We deserved the win today. I tried to get in the right position for the first goal and waited for the right moment to pass to Rasmus. Luckily he did the rest.”

Hojlund has already scored three goals in his first five matches under Antonio Conte, having signed a loan deal with a purchase option for £38 million.

The 22-year-old striker, who reacted emotionally after scoring for United, added: “It was a night you dream of while playing in the Champions League. I celebrated by touching the Napoli badge because I’m happy to play here, and also the Champions League badge, because I love scoring in Europe.”

Not only did Hojlund show great performance. Anthony Elanga and former player Marcel Sabitzer were also awarded as the best players of the match.

Elanga continues his successful journey after transferring from Old Trafford to Nottingham Forest for £15 million in 2023, becoming one of the key players in the 4-0 thumping of 'Union Saint-Gilloise'.

Sabitzer, who briefly played for United in 2023, also received an award for playing a key role in Borussia Dortmund's 4-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Marcus Rashford continues to demonstrate a high level of performance in Borussia, having played six matches and contributed to six goals.

Due to recent results, United is considering organizing friendly matches mid-week to give its players more game time. The pressure on Amorim is mounting ahead of an important match against ambitious Sunderland on Saturday.

These events highlight the increased demands on a team that has not lost any of its previous 23 Premier League encounters with promoted teams. If this streak is broken, the consequences could be severe for the coach.
