Three suspects in HAMAS terror acts detained in Germany: what is known about the arrests.
Detention of three terrorist suspects in Germany
According to The Sun: In Germany, three suspects from HAMAS appeared in court yesterday. Law enforcement claims they managed to prevent a mass attack that could have occurred.
This trio, armed with Kalashnikov rifles, pistols, and ammunition, raised serious concerns that they could bring terror to Europe on October 7.
ReutersLaw enforcement believes that the detainees planned attacks on Israeli or Jewish targets, including a synagogue that was attacked in Manchester recently.
The German federal prosecutor noted that the suspects had recently acquired firearms in preparation for a terrorist act.
Among the seized weapons were several pistols and a large stockpile of ammunition confiscated during a police operation 24 hours before the attack in Manchester.
At the time of publication, no evidence had been found linking these events, but concerns about the escalation of Palestinian terrorism in Europe worry law enforcement agencies.
Two of the suspects are German citizens, while the third is reportedly of Lebanese descent. Their names are Abed Al G, Wael F M, and Ahmad I.
“HAMAS has carried out thousands of attacks on Israeli civilians but has rarely acted outside the region and denied its involvement,” the statement noted.
Details of their plans remain unknown, and it is unclear whether they acted on orders from HAMAS or were independent actions of Palestinian sympathizers.
These arrests occurred against a backdrop of significant fighting by HAMAS in Gaza, as Donald Trump called on them to lay down their arms or face a fierce Israeli assault.
The German federal judge ruled to keep the trio in custody pending a full trial on charges of being members of a foreign terrorist organization and planning serious acts of violence.
Police arrested members of HAMAS in Berlin in December 2023, apprehending four suspects who could have been involved in preparing attacks on Jewish targets in Europe.
