TikTok may come under Microsoft control: Trump reveals details.
US President Donald Trump has confirmed that Microsoft is in talks regarding a potential acquisition of the social app TikTok. This was reported by CNN.
According to Trump, he is positive about the deal and considers competition important for achieving the best terms. 'I like bidding wars because it allows for the best deals to be made,' Trump said.
The president emphasized the platform's security and the creation of new jobs. 'This is very important for us, as it is clearly stated. If I sign, someone will buy TikTok, pay a lot of money, create many jobs, keep the platform open, and ensure its reliable security. And if I don't sign, it will close,' the US president stressed.
Currently, negotiations are underway with several potential buyers of TikTok. A final decision regarding the future of the app will be made within the next thirty days.
It was previously reported that TikTok is strengthening its influence: the company plans to purchase Nvidia and Huawei chips for $12 billion.
