Pressure on the flanks of the AFU increased: analyst assessed the situation on the Pokrovske direction.
The situation on the Pokrovske direction remains tense, reports military-political expert Dmytro Sniehyrov. Preventing the tactical success of Russian occupiers is of crucial importance for the Defense Forces of Ukraine. On the Pokrovske direction, Russian occupiers continue to advance on a key logistic route. This is due to their intentions to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk region.
The expert emphasized that everything depends on the readiness of the engineering fortifications of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. If these fortifications are ready, it will hinder the tactical successes of the occupiers.
Sniehyrov also noted that Russian occupiers are operating in the area of two routes: "Pokrovske - Kostyantynivka" (0504), which is about 4 kilometers away, and "Pokrovske - Karlivka". The latter route is effectively under the fire control of the enemy. These actions are taken to disrupt the logistics of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The expert assesses that if the enemy reaches the "Pokrovske - Kostyantynivka" route, the logistical shoulder of the Defense Forces of Ukraine will double. Additionally, by capturing Novogrodivka, the occupiers increase the pressure on the flanks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine on the Pokrovske direction.
Dmytro Sniehyrov called on local military-civilian administrations to focus on preparing Myrnohrad and Pokrovske for active hostilities. This should prevent the implementation of the occupiers' plan, which envisages reaching the administrative borders of Donetsk region and announcing a flanking encirclement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Vuhledar direction.
