According to The Sun: A three-year-old boy on a Lisbon tram survived a horrific accident. He begged a police officer to hold him, as his father was found dead and his mother is fighting for her life.
At least 16 people died in this dreadful disaster, which left passengers trapped under debris while rescuers tried to free them.

Details of the Accident
The boy's mother is in critical condition, and his father was found dead after the famous Gloria tram lost control and crashed into a building.
The family was vacationing in the Portuguese capital when, according to reports, the cable car broke away from the cable.
The boy was rescued, but he would not let go of the
police officerwho was saving his mother, pleading:
“Please hold me!”
The 45-year-old police officer quickly took the mother to the
hospital, during which the boy remained close to him, reports CNN Portugal.
Fortunately, the child survived but is likely undergoing psychological treatment.
His mother is still in intensive care.

Among the victims of the disaster are at least 21 injured, including the boy's mother, who is German.
Witnesses recounted how the tram broke apart like a
“cardboard box”when it crashed into a wall on Wednesday.

The list of victims includes eight women, seven men, and two unidentified individuals.
Among the dead and injured are Portuguese, Germans, Spaniards, as well as citizens from South Korea, Canada, Italy, France, Switzerland, Morocco and Cape Verde.
The policehave begun an investigation to determine the causes of the tragedy.
