Tragedy in Odesa due to bad weather
According to inkorr.com: In Odesa, on Serhii Eisenstein Street, the bodies of five people were found during heavy weather, including an eight-year-old girl. The Odesa regional state administration reported an ongoing operation to pump out water, which complicates access to the bodies.
DSNS spokeswoman Marina Averbina confirmed that a family living in a basement apartment died. People were swept away by the wave, and they could not save themselves. The identities of the deceased have not yet been established.
Recovery after the natural disaster
Over the course of a day, Odesa and the surrounding areas suffered from severe flooding. Rescuers recorded nine fatalities, including a child. In a short period, almost a month and a half worth of rainfall fell in the city.
At night, services were conducting the evacuation of people trapped, pulling out stuck cars, and pumping water from buildings. The body of the eight-year-old girl was found in the morning, around seven o'clock.
As a result of this tragedy, the entire family living in the basement apartment died in Odesa. Rescuers continue to remediate the consequences of the event and are trying to identify the deceased. The bad weather caused significant destruction and human casualties, and the situation remains critical.
This tragedy has become a horrifying confirmation of the destructive power of nature and its impact on people's lives.
