Finnish President Alexander Stubb said his phone conversation with Donald Trump on Monday evening confirms the intentions of the new US president to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Stubb said in an interview with Bloomberg TV on Tuesday: 'Europe and the world must understand that Donald Trump is very serious about achieving a peaceful deal as soon as possible. There is a window of opportunity for these negotiations between elections and the day of inauguration'.

Speaking at the COP29 climate summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, Stubb outlined four prerequisites for peace in Ukraine. Among them is the territory, 'and here we don't know where it will all end,' he noted. Second - guarantees of security, third - justice, 'and the fourth, the simplest, is reconstruction'.
