Trump on the attack on Putin's residence: what the US president said.
According to ТСН: US President Donald Trump commented on the latest accusations from the Kremlin, which claim that Ukraine allegedly attacked the residence of Russian leader Putin with drones.
Trump made these comments during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was also present.
Trump's reaction to Kremlin's accusations
Trump noted that he had heard about this situation but did not know the details. He expressed himself as follows:
“No, I don’t know anything about that. I just heard about it, but I don’t know the details. That would be very bad. That wouldn’t be good.”
The US president also confirmed that Putin told him about this 'attack' during a phone call, which may indicate his tendency to believe information from Russia.
In further comments, he said:
“Yes, I don’t like that. I don’t like that. That’s not good. I heard it this morning, you know, I was told about it. President Putin told me about it early in the morning. He said he was attacked. That’s not good. That’s not good. Don’t forget, you know, about the ‘Tomahawks’. I stopped the ‘Tomahawks’. I didn’t want that because we are talking, you know, about a delicate time.”
Trump also admitted that he was “very angry” upon hearing about the attack from Putin:
“One thing is to insult, and another is to attack his home. You can’t do that. Now is not the right time for this.”
At the same time, the US president noted that Ukraine denies the fact of the attack:
“Maybe it didn’t happen. We will find out. Anything is possible. But Putin told me it did.”
We remind you that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called these statements about an attack on Putin's residence 'typical Russian lies' and emphasized that Moscow uses such statements to undermine diplomatic efforts to end the war.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Lavrov accused Ukraine of the drones from the Defense Forces attacking Putin's residence in the Novgorod region, and threatened to revise Russia's negotiating position.
The situation surrounding the Kremlin's accusations continues to escalate tensions in international relations. It is important to monitor further developments, as this may affect diplomatic negotiations and efforts for a peaceful resolution of the conflict in the region.
