Trump said what awaits Canadians in the '51st state' of the USA.
'Canada should become our favorite 51st state', - US President Donald Trump made another controversial statement about Canada.
On the social network Truth, he wrote that the United States allegedly spends hundreds of billions of dollars supporting this country. 'We don’t need anything that Canada has. We have unlimited energy supplies, we should make our own cars and we have more wood than we can use,' Trump stated.
He also expressed the opinion that without this financial aid, Canada would not be able to exist as a viable state. 'Harsh, but true!' - emphasized the president.
As an alternative, he suggested joining Canada to the USA, which, according to him, would allow Canadians to receive lower taxes, better military protection, and no customs tariffs.
This statement sparked a wave of discussion in political circles and among the public, as relations between the two countries are traditionally based on partnership rather than financial dependence.
Earlier, Trump again talked about US control over Greenland.
