US President Donald Trump stated that his administration is planning to hold meetings and preliminary discussions with both Ukrainian and Russian sides to end the war.

Trump made this announcement to reporters after arriving at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington.

'As you know, we had a very busy weekend, we dealt with Israel, we dealt with Ukraine and Russia. We have planned meetings and negotiations with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia,' said the US president.

He did not provide specific details but noted that the process is moving in a positive direction.

'I think these discussions are actually going quite well,' Trump added.
