Trump is ready to guarantee Ukraine's security: named the main condition

According to ТСН: President Donald Trump expressed the willingness of the United States to take on the obligations regarding the defense of Ukraine, but only if Russia does not attempt to invade again.

He stated this during an interview for The New York Times.

“I firmly believe that they will not invade again, otherwise I would not agree to this”

Trump noted that his words indicate readiness to provide support to Ukraine. When asked about a possible peace agreement, he emphasized that the U.S. would play only a secondary role in this matter.

“Let's put it this way: its allies, all of Europe, other countries that get involved - and the United States”

The president also expressed confidence that Vladimir Putin seeks peace.

“I think he wants to make a deal. But I thought about this - I have been thinking about this for a long time”

Trump mentioned that he had previously discussed making an agreement with Putin, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not support this idea. He believes that “both want to make a deal, but we’ll figure that out later.”

The American leader emphasized that he does not plan to promise increased support from Washington if the Kremlin continues to resist.

“I just don’t want to be in a situation where I have to say that because I am obligated to try to save lives... We are doing everything we can. I don’t have specific timelines”

Trump also noted that without his involvement “Russia would have all of Ukraine,” stressing that his policy in NATO and towards allies restrained the Kremlin's aggression. According to him, he personally “ended 8 wars” and saved millions of lives.

Recently it became known that the United States supported a security guarantee system for Ukraine. The States promised to provide guarantees that will include commitments to support the country in the event of a new attack from Russia.

Allies will also participate in the monitoring and verification mechanism of the ceasefire under U.S. leadership.

In the context of Trump’s recent statements, it is important to note that the issue of Ukraine's security remains at the center of international attention. Support from the U.S. and its allies could significantly affect the further development of events in the region. Delays or instability in negotiations may lead to new challenges for Ukrainian statehood and security.
