Trump stated that Putin let him down on the issue of peace in Ukraine.
According to inkorr.com: U.S. President Donald Trump accused Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that he 'let him down' on the issue of a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine. These statements were made by Trump during a press conference with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
'I thought this would be the easiest option (resolution in Ukraine) due to my relationship with President Putin, but he let me down. He really let me down,' said Trump.
Trump also noted that Russian military casualties exceed those of Ukraine: 'Putin is killing many people. He is losing more people than he kills. Russian soldiers are killed more often than Ukrainians.'
The UK Parliament condemns Putin's actions
Keir Starmer, the leader of Britain, condemned Putin's actions in Ukraine: 'In recent days, Putin has shown his true face, carrying out the largest attacks since the evasion of responsibility, with even greater bloodshed, a greater number of innocent people killed, and unprecedented violations of NATO airspace. These are not the actions characteristic of seeking peace,' emphasized the British Prime Minister.
During the meeting, Trump and Starmer discussed issues of support for Ukraine and intensified pressure on Putin to achieve a peace agreement. Plans were also announced regarding the U.S. supply of 'a large amount of weapons for Ukraine' to NATO countries. The leaders signed an agreement on cooperation in technology between the U.S. and the UK.
From the results of the press conference, it became clear that both countries intend to continue supporting Ukraine in its fight for peace and responding to Russia's aggression. In addition, an important agreement on cooperation in the technical field can strengthen the partnership between the U.S. and the UK.
