Trump on Putin and Zelensky: They Hate Each Other a Lot.
According to ТСН: US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin "hate each other a lot", and this complicates the possibility of an agreement between them.
Trump noted:
"But Putin did not respect Zelensky, did not like Zelensky. They really hate each other. And part of the problem is that they hate each other a lot, you know. And it's very hard for them to try to make a deal."
The US President emphasized that this makes resolving the conflict in Ukraine "more complicated than most", although he had previously expressed otherwise. Trump again referred to his experience in conflict resolution, adding that the situation between Ukraine and Russia could have been his ninth deal.
"I have resolved so many wars. I am very proud of this. And I do it quite regularly, quite easily. It is not hard for me to do. It's what I do. I make deals. This one's complex. One of the reasons is that the level of hatred between Putin and Zelensky is huge," Trump noted.
In this same interview, he called Zelensky a 'wonderful salesman', who received $350 billion from former American President Joe Biden. According to Trump, the Ukrainian leader "managed to get corrupt Biden" to provide him with financial assistance, resulting in Zelensky "losing about 25% of his country".
These comments from Trump highlight the complexity of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Russia while acknowledging the existence of personal animosities that may hinder peaceful resolution. Discussions about financial aid to Ukraine also reflect the broader political and economic issues faced by the country during the conflict.
