Trump urged CBS to put host Stephen Colbert to sleep due to criticism.
According to ТСН: U.S. President Donald Trump commented on 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert, calling him one of the most active critics of his policies on American late-night television.
Trump shared his thoughts on social media:
‘Stephen Colbert is a pathetic loser who has neither talent nor anything else necessary for success in show business. Stephen, who lives in hate and anger, is doomed! CBS should put him to sleep right now, that is the most humane thing they can do.’
Interestingly, last year Trump sued CBS News over an interview with Kamala Harris that raised certain questions. He demanded compensation in the amount of $10 billion.
Trump's campaign claimed that the producers of '60 Minutes' significantly edited Harris's responses and demanded CBS publish an unedited version of the interview.
Trump's verbal spats with television hosts are not new, however, his recent comments draw attention to the ongoing conflict between politics and entertainment in the U.S. media landscape. These statements underscore the tension in society, where political differences often become the subject of public discussion and even criticism in popular shows.
