US President Donald Trump stated that the US would not withdraw from negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. This was reported by Estonian President Alar Karis after the farewell ceremony with Pope Francis. Karis attended Pope Francis's funeral in the Vatican and spoke with Trump about the peace process in Ukraine. Trump promised to do everything possible to keep the process going and invited Karis to Washington. They also discussed transatlantic relations and a possible visit by Trump to Estonia. Karis emphasized the importance of improving these relations and noted that the dates for meetings have not yet been determined. The Estonian president did not inquire about the details of their meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. After Zelensky's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Macron addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin.
