During the game, Trent received the ball on the right flank but immediately felt something went wrong.
The defender grabbed his hamstring and fell to the ground.
It soon became clear that he could not continue the match and needed to be substituted.
Dani Carvajal quickly donned the football kit and came onto the pitch.
Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold left the field surrounded by a team of physiotherapists.
This match marked a difficult start to Trent's career in Madrid after his transfer in June.
The Liverpool star left Anfield after 21 years and became a part of Real, signing a contract for £10 million.
Although he could have become a free agent in June, Real decided to sign him for the revamped squad at the Club World Cup.
