Trump demands a halt to bombing Gaza: what preceded the decision.
Trump calls on Israel to stop bombing Gaza
According to The Sun: Donald Trump is demanding that Israel stop bombing Gaza after Hamas agreed to release all hostages, including the deceased.
The president noted that he believes the terrorist organization is 'ready for lasting peace'. This could be an important step towards ending the brutal war.
Israeli hostage, Eli Sharabi, who has been held captive by Hamas since October 7, 2023 Hamas is still considering whether to accept Trump's 20-point peace planTrump stated:
'Israel should immediately stop bombing Gaza so that we can quickly and safely free the hostages.'He also added that 'right now it is too dangerous'.
Hamas confirmed its readiness to release all hostages, both living and dead, according to Trump's plan.
'In this context, the movement confirms its readiness to immediately start negotiations through intermediaries to discuss the details,'Hamas stated. Trump gave Hamas 48 hours to consider the plan.
However, the terrorist organization did not fully agree to the terms, pointing to its desire to be included in the government after the war. A senior Hamas official, Musa Abu Marzuk, emphasized that the group will not give up its arms while 'the Israeli occupation' persists.
Hamas also rejects a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops, demanding an immediate exit and is ready to discuss Gaza's future within the framework of a Palestinian national platform.
Trump will raise the issue of peace
However, Trump excluded the possibility that Hamas would remain in power to achieve peace, stating that 'no one will be forced to leave Gaza'. He again called for the urgent evacuation of all innocent Palestinians from 'the territory of potential devastation'.
If Hamas agrees, Trump and Tony Blair will jointly govern Gaza under 'The Peace Governorship' until the Palestinian Authority can assume responsibility.
According to the plan, within 72 hours after the agreement is accepted, Israel will release 250 inmates serving life sentences and 1700 Gazans detained after October 7, 2023. For each released Israeli hostage, 15 bodies of deceased Gazans will be surrendered.
Trump emphasized that his plan has received support from leaders of Muslim and Arab countries, although the Pakistani side rejected some points, stating they were edited.
