Turkey Tests New Drone with Munitions

In Turkey, the combat test of the ANKA-3 unmanned aerial vehicle was successfully conducted. For the first Time, the drone flew with munitions.

During the flight, ANKA-3 carried a payload with laser and GPS guidance to the target. This information was provided by the portal SavunmaSanayiST.

The company TUSAS developed the ANKA-3, which has already successfully passed many test flights. This time, the aircraft was lifted into the air with munitions, and it was noted that it had a laser and GPS guidance package under one of the wings.

General Director of TUSAS Mehmet Demiroglu noted that ANKA-3 successfully passed the first test with munitions and demonstrated its power in the defense sector.

The duration of the first flight of ANKA-3 was 1 hour 10 minutes. The aircraft reached an altitude of over 2400 meters and achieved a speed of up to 280 km/h. ANKA-3 is designed not only for strikes but also for reconnaissance and surveillance.

ANKA-3 can attack both air and ground targets, striking helicopters, propeller aircraft, and enemy unmanned aerial vehicles. Additionally, it is equipped with a system to neutralize enemy radar emissions and air defense systems.

ANKA-3 can stay airborne for up to 10 hours and carry a load of up to 1200 kg. The maximum speed of the aircraft is 0.7 Mach.

Turkey also plans to purchase next-generation F-35 fighter jets from the USA to gain an advantage in airspace over Greece. In the negotiations for returning to the F-35 supply program, Turkey offers the American side not to activate the Russian-bought S-400 air defense systems.
